Overview of CAP Messaging in OMS

The Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) is a standardized format for delivering emergency alerts. Optoma Management Suite (OMS) supports broadcasting emergency messages in CAP format to notify target devices in environments such as schools, offices, and public spaces.

OMS

  1. Broadcast > CAP Message > Add
     
  2. Fill in the information
    • Message name
    • Select target Device/Group/Location
  3. Customize message template.
    You can customize the appearance of your emergency broadcast by adjusting the text and media settings, ensuring visibility and clarity across various display environments.

    • Text Message
           ▸ Text Position
           ▸ Text color
           ▸ Background color
    • Media Message
           ▸ Upload Image
           ▸ Image size options
    • Force Broadcast option
  4. Generate Optoma CAP Message Format
    a. Copy the “CAP URL,“Payload” (optional), “Username,” and “Password” from the dialog, then paste them into the emergency system.
    Note: For security reasons, “Password” will only be displayed once and will disappear after you close this dialog 

     
  5. Sample Test
    The sample test of the CAP message is to verify that OMS and device messaging are functioning correctly.


    Configuring CAP Endpoints for Your Broadcast Syste

    Using the CAP URL, Username, and Password you just copied, navigate to your broadcasting system's   console to complete the connection between OMS and your broadcasting system. This typically involves creating a new configuration.
    Once the connection is successfully established, broadcasts triggered from your existing system will be delivered to the assigned devices configured through OMS's CAP Messaging feature.
